Three Generations of Women The AMS is a society whose members are mostly doctors and other health care professionals taking a special interest in women's health in midlife and menopause and the promotion of healthy aging. As well as holding an annual scientific congress in Australia & New Zealand, some of our members are involved with the Asia-Pacific and International Menopause Societies, recognizing that women living in Australia and New Zealand may have widely differing experiences of menopause.

Whether you are looking for information about peri-menopause, HRT and alternatives, osteoporosis or trying to find a doctor interested in women's health, the AMS seeks to bring accurate, evidence-based information to the community and health care workers.

The transition through menopause may raise various questions from ‘Contraception when approaching menopause' (info sheet) to ‘Where can I find an interested doctor?'(Find a doctor). Whilst we are ethically unable to answer individual medical questions, we have a series of information pamphlets which can be downloaded and printed by women or their doctor to better understand the transition through this stage of life.

For members of the Society we offer a range of services. The AMS holds an annual scientific congress in Australia or in New Zealand. Our website contains educational resources including media releases, abstracts and commentaries on currently published papers, position statements, Cochrane reviews and useful links to other related organisations.

The society's quarterly journal ‘Changes' is emailed or sent in hard copy to all AMS members and is also available in the members' area on the website.

We welcome new members. Details of membership can be obtained from our secretariat, Viv Wallace (Contact us)
