AMS Congress 2008
Dr Di Palmer, Congress Chair
One of the main themes of this Congress was Metabolism and Midlife - focusing on issues of weight changes, nutrition, diabetes and cardiovascular disease risk - issues which affectan increasing proportion of our population particularly at mid life. To complement this theme a range of topics was selected which focussed on the many and varied aspects of women during the menopause transition.
The Congress Scientific Program Committee developed an outstanding program featuring internationally recognised experts participating in plenary lectures, interactive sessions and panel discussions. The AMS Scientific Meetings are planned three years in advance, building on the topics and experiences of our past successful Annual Scientific Meetings.
The success of this meeting was due to my organising and scientific committees, particularly A/Prof Rod Baber, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Viv Wallace, AMS Secretariat, our distinguished speakers, our sponsors, our conference organisers Tour Hosts and not least you for being part of the 2008 Congress. I hope you were stimulated by the science and clinical messages and enjoyed the camaraderie and interaction with other AMS members.
Abstracts from the 2008 meeting and previous meetings are available for AMS Members at AMS Abstracts (Note: you must be a current AMS Member to access)
