Thank you to the 555 delegates who attended Menopause Down Under in Sydney or online last Saturday. A big thank you to our speakers Dr Carmel Reynolds, Prof Rod Baber AM, Dr Terri Foran, Dr Yasmin Tan and Dr Zhuoran Chen for providing evidence-based information about how to conduct a menopause consult, how to prescribe MHT, non-hormonal options, managing bleeding on MHT, genitourinary syndrome of the menopause, pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence, in such a clinically relevant way. A big, big thank you to AMS Board Member and AMS Education Subcommittee Chair, Dr Elina Safro for developing the program, bringing all the speakers together and for facilitating a fantastic session on real life case studies. About us
The Australasian Menopause Society (AMS) is a member-based organisation with the aim of increasing knowledge about the menopause. There are over 2 million post-menopausal women in Australia and another 80,000 join this group every year. The majority of these women will experience menopausal symptoms of some form or another which will persist for four to eight years and some into their seventies. Now that women live around one third of their lives in the post-menopausal state, optimizing physical and mental health during this period is becoming more important. The need to understand the various problems of the menopause, and their management is a major issue for doctors, politicians, health care workers and the community. It is hoped the AMS will help bring together these people to participate in communication and scientific discussions for the advancement of knowledge about the menopause. All those with an interest in the menopause are encouraged to join the Society; and to participate and assist in the achievement of its aims.

Patch shortages in Australia and New Zealand have been an ongoing issue for many years. We need to ensure there is a consistent supply and we also need more menopausal hormone therapies available on the PBS. https://lnkd.in/g_bv9hb4 #menopause #menopausematters #embracethechange
