AMS Menopause Down under 2024

At Rydges World Square, Sydney on Saturday 6 April 2024, AMS will be hosting Menopause Down Under.

This whole day event will focus on midlife women's health issues down under

Join us for an up-to-date discussion on the fundamentals of menopause medicine, management of bleeding whilst on menopausal hormonal therapy, pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence, and management of genitourinary syndrome of the menopause.

There will be a panel discussion on managing complex cases.

This is a great opportunity to hear from some of Australia's experts in the field of midlife women's health and to network with colleagues.

This face-to-face event will also be live-streamed for health professionals who cannot make it to Sydney.

Please note that online attendees will not be able to ask questions of the presenters.

IMS Live 18 March 2024: Vaginal erbium laser for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence: optimization of therapeutical regimen for a sustained long-term effect

Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a common health problem that affects more or less 35% of women in the reproductive period. Gaspar et al. [1] conducted a prospective uncontrolled study in order to assess the long-term efficacy and safety of a non-ablative Er:YAG laser treatment of SUI in forty-three patients (n=43). All women underwent three sessions of IncontiLase® procedure, and the efficacy of the laser treatment was evaluated by 1-h pad test, 24-h pad test, 3-day voiding diary, and the use of ICIQ-UI SF questionnaire at multiple follow-ups. IMS Live 25 March 2024: Genitourinary symptoms and sexual function in women with primary ovarian insufficiency

Recently, Blümel et al. [1] published data of a cross-sectional study performed in seven Latin American countries aiming to compare urogenital symptoms, including sexuality, of women with primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) to those without the condition. For this, 1,190 postmenopausal women (n=401 had POI; and n=789 did not) were surveyed with a general questionnaire, the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS) and the six-item Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI-6). The association of POI with more urogenital symptoms and lower sexual function was evaluated with logistic regression analysis...
