Dr Christina Jang
President
Dr Christina Jang MBBS MD FRACP GAICD

Dr Christina Jang is an endocrinologist with an expertise in women’s health. She trained at Monash Medical Centre and St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne before relocating to Brisbane in 2011. She is a Senior Staff Specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and in private practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital.

Christina is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and has research collaborations with Griffith University and the Australian Institute of Sport. She maintains an active role in teaching both medical students and advanced trainees in endocrinology.

Dr Marita Long

Dr Marita Long MBBS FRACGP DCH Cert of Sexual and Reproductive Health

Dr Marita Long is a Victorian based GP working across clinical practice, medical education and research. After completing her Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Marita worked for Family Planning which has positioned her well to work with women across the various ages and stages of their lives.

Marita is a current committee member for the Australian Society of Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a member of the Women in General Practice committee for the RACGP and has recently been appointed as a Honorary Medical Adviser for Dementia Australia and a clinical Associate Professor for Wicking Dementia Education and Research Centre.

Marita has developed and delivered many educational, face-to-face and online workshops and is passionate about upskilling GPs to deliver the best evidence-based care to patients, especially women, who so often feel their voices aren’t heard.

Dr Sylvia Rosevear

Dr Sylvia Rosevear

Dr Sylvia Rosevear is a New Zealand Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, who lives in Auckland. She graduated from Auckland University in 1980. She worked in the UK from 1984-1993 (London, Oxford and Bristol) and returned to New Zealand in private practice in 1993, practicing both Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

She joined the board in 2017 as a board appointment. As President, Sylvia's focus was to promote the vision of the AMS and increase its educational reach on all matters menopausal, a challenge with the vacuum that arose following the publication of WHI in 2002.

Dr Ashley Makepeace

Dr Ashley Makepeace MBBS, FRACP

Dr Ashley Makepeace is a clinical Endocrinologist and completed her Endocrinology training in Western Australia and in Oxford, UK. Her public appointment is at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. She consults in private health with interests in type 1 diabetes, bone health and women’s health, and works as an Endocrinologist within a fertility clinic.

She is a guest lecturer for the medical curriculum at Notre Dame University, Fremantle. She is the chair of a local interest group of Endocrinologists and Clinical Biochemists with a focus on women’s health.

Dr Elina Safro

Dr Elina Safro MB BS, BSc(Med)Hon, Grad Cert SA

Dr Elina Safro is a general practitioner with reproductive and sexual health and over 13 years clinical experience across the full scope of this area of medicine.

Elina practises clinically at Family Planning Australia and is an accredited trainer in IUD and Implanon insertion. She has held a VMO position at the Menopause Hub at Royal Hospital for Women, Randwick. She holds a VMO appointment at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the medical and forensic management of sexual assault. She also serves as Chair, Education Subcommittee of the Board of Australasian Menopause Society and Adjunct Research Fellow at the HER Centre, Monash University. She is a clinical examiner for Australian Medical Council.

Dr Amie Hanlon

Dr Amie Hanlon BSc(Hons) MBBS FRANZCOG

Dr Amie Hanlon is an obstetrician and gynaecologist who has been in private practice since she received her fellowship from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in early 2016.

In her time as a private gynaecologist, Amie has been privileged to witness the vast improvement in quality of life that a personalised approach to the management of perimenopause can bring and truly enjoys guiding women through their menopausal transition as one of the clinicians at the multidisciplinary Menopause Centre in Greenslopes, Brisbane.

Amie also has a special interest in trans and gender-diverse healthcare, and is a member of the Gender Affirming Network, Queensland.

Dr Terri Foran

Dr Terri Foran MBBS (Syd), MClinEd (UNSW), FAChSHM

Dr Terri Foran is a Sexual Health Physician with a special clinical interest in contraception, menopause and the management of sexually transmitted infections. She has had numerous publications in these fields.

Dr Foran holds the position of Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the School of Women’s and Children’s Health at UNSW Sydney, where she is regularly involved in the teaching of undergraduate students. She is a current Board member of the Australasian Menopause Society. She also has a particular interest in postgraduate clinical education and has presented at both National and International conferences as well as hosting regular podcasts for HealthEd on topics related to sexual and reproductive health.

Dr Jessica Floreani

Dr Jessica Floreani BSc (Biomed) BMBS FRACGP DCH Cert Sexual & Reproductive Health

Dr Jessica Floreani is an Adelaide based GP working in clinical practice as a specialist women’s health practitioner. Jessica has also worked for SHINE SA for over 15 years in both clinical practice and in medical education and most recently as coordinator of LARC training.

She holds a Diploma in Child Health, Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health and is an IUD and Implanon Master Trainer. Jessica has developed and updated many courses and delivered educational material both online and in person.

Jessica maintains a keen interest and passion in her area of expertise, working with both clinicians and educating patients, to optimise their care across their life span.

Dr Megan Ogilvie

Dr Megan Ogilvie MBChB, FRACP

Dr Megan Ogilvie is a clinical endocrinologist based in Auckland, New Zealand. She trained in Auckland and completed her fellowship at Barts and the University of London Hospitals. Megan works as a reproductive and general endocrinologist at ERH Associates and at Te Whatu Ora.

Megan is a keen contributor to general practice and registrar education in the area of women’s hormonal health. In addition to her work in menopause, she has longstanding expertise in the hormone health of active women and female athletes and continues to provide consultancy and teaching for High Performance Sport New Zealand in this field, with a particular focus on Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport.
