More than 80 health professionals joined us in Ballarat for the AMS Menopause Essentials Update, a strong turnout that reflects the growing interest in quality menopause education across the region.
The half-day program brought together four experienced clinicians, each delivering focused, evidence-based sessions on key aspects of menopause care. Dr Ruth Spencer opened with a practical look at the menopause consult, followed by Dr Melanie Hemsley on menopause hormone therapy, Dr Ellie O'Connor on non-hormonal treatment options, and Dr Kate Stewart on abnormal bleeding in perimenopause and menopause. The case-based approach throughout the day prompted thoughtful discussion and gave attendees plenty to take back into everyday practice.
A dedicated information stand hosted by the Ballarat Women's Clinic team offered attendees the chance to connect informally with local practitioners across menopause care, gynaecology, and allied health, a valuable addition to the program that was well received.
We were also pleased to offer complimentary registration to registrars attending this event, supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing under the National Women's Health Strategy 2020–2030. Supporting early-career clinicians in building confidence in menopause care is central to AMS's educational mission.
Thank you to our speakers, attendees, and the Ballarat Women's Clinic for contributing to a productive and engaging day. Also thank you to the event Sponsors, Besins Healthcare and Orion Pharma.
