AMS Appoints New Executive Director

Friday 22, May 2026

The Australasian Menopause Society has appointed Elly Taylor as its Executive Director, bringing to the role more than a decade of senior leadership experience in women's health across for-purpose organisations.

Elly joins AMS from Women's Health East, where she served as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that, she held executive roles at The Royal Women's Hospital as Director of Strategic Engagement, Advocacy and Innovation, and at Women's Health West as Director of Strategy, Advocacy and Community Engagement. Alongside her executive career, she brings nearly a decade of non-executive board experience, with expertise in governance, strategic execution, and values-based leadership.

She holds a Master of Women's Health, postgraduate qualifications in gender studies and social policy, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Elly has described her focus as building high-performing cultures and contributing to organisations that produce measurable impact and strong financial performance to deliver long-term value. On joining AMS, she said:

"I look forward to working alongside the AMS's staff, Board, members and partners to advance the care of women in midlife by leading clinical education, supporting research and evidence translation, and being a trusted source of information for health professionals and the public."

The appointment reflects AMS's commitment to strengthening its leadership as the peak body for menopause care in Australia and New Zealand.
